The Echo Dot (5th gen) does everything you’d want a smart speaker to do — you can play music, set alarms, and create routines via the Alexa app. I also use mine to control my smart lights and set reminders. It doesn’t have a screen or fancy clock display, but it's tough to beat for the price and sound quality (plus Alexa’s capabilities).
